MANILA, Philippines — A total of 536 locally-stranded individuals (LSIs) from Manila have arrived in Iloilo City.

In photos posted by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) on Wednesday, PCG personnel could be seen assisting LSIs who traveled from Manila to San Pedro, Iloilo City on July 28, Tuesday.

PCG personnel are seen wearing personal protective equipment (PPEs) in adherence to health protocols.

FEATURED STORIES

Thousands of LSIs are currently crammed inside the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex in Manila, waiting to be assisted to go home to their home provinces.

They trooped to the stadium to avail of the “Hatid Tulong” program, the government’s free transportation assistance to ferry stranded individuals to their home provinces amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Interior Secretary Eduardo Año said 2,000 LSIs are expected to be sent home to their provinces by July 30.
