MANILA, Philippines — “I’m here at the disposal of government.”

Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Archie Gamboa said this amid chatter that he was being eyed for the post of director of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) once he retires from the police force.

“Police General Atty. Archie Francisco Gamboa is at the disposal of government,” the PNP chief said over ABS-CBN News Channel’s “Headstart” on Wednesday.

“I’ve been hearing from sources that there’s a possibility that you’ll be extended as PNP chief,” Headstart’s host Karen Davila asked Gamboa.

In response, he said: “I will just work and I submit to the wisdom of the President or to other people kung anong gusto nila… Basta I’m here at the disposal of government,” he said.
