SAF trainee kills fellow cop in Catbalogan after heated argument
TACLOBAN CITY—A policeman was shot dead by a colleague during a heated argument at the Special Action Company gymnasium at the village of Guindapunan, Catbalogan City on Monday (July 27).
Patrolman Lloyd Imano, 32, was brought to the Samar Provincial Hospital but was declared dead on arrival there.
Imano, a native of Coronadal City, was said to have confronted Patrolman Eduardo de la Cruz for endorsing him for a “sure shock” training program, officially known as Urban Counter-Revolutionary Warfare Course, one of the courses being given to policemen undergoing Special Action Force (SAF) training.
Imano and Dela Cruz were SAF trainees.
De la Cruz voluntarily surrendered to Senior Msgt Kimjee Guinaat and handed over his firearm. He was detained at the Catbalogan police station to await filing of charges.
