1,400 Cotabato hospital workers tested for virus

/ 04:10 AM July 24, 2020

COTABATO CITY—Some 1,400 workers of Cotabato Regional Medical Center (CRMC) will undergo tests for the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) after the death of a 3-year-old boy treated at the hospital for pneumonia was later found to be positive for COVID-19.

Dr. Helen Yambao, CRMC chief, said subjecting the workers to reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction tests would ensure that all personnel in the hospital were healthy.

“Tests are ongoing, with no one coming out positive of the disease,” Yambao said in a local radio interview. —EDWIN O. FERNANDEZ
