School principal gunned down in Cotabato province

PIKIT, COTABATO — A school principal in Pikit town of Cotabato province was gunned down on Thursday, July 23.

Captain Mautin Pangandigan, Pikit municipal police chief, identified the victim as Abdullah Hussain, 43, a resident of Barangay Fort Pikit.

Hussain is the principal of the Dagadas Elementary School in Barangay Buliok.

Pangandigan said Hussain was traveling from the public market aboard his motorbike when the unidentified gunman appeared and shot him at 10:45 a.m.

The gunman then fled to an unknown direction.

Pangandigan said police investigators are working to establish the identity of the attacker and the motive of the attack.
