MANILA, Philippines — Starting Wednesday, Filipinos were allowed to go abroad for nonessential travel as long as they abide by five conditions set by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF), the Bureau of Immigration said.

These include having confirmed round-trip tickets if they are on tourist visas; adequate travel and health insurance to cover rebooking; accommodation expenses if stranded and hospitalization costs in case of infection, in such amount as may be determined by the Department of Tourism; proof of allowed entry by the destination country; and a declaration acknowledging the risks involved in traveling, including flight delays.

On their return, travelers must follow the guidelines for returning Filipino travelers including mandatory quarantine in government-accredited facilities.
