Leyte village councilor one of 2 new COVID-19 patients in Eastern Visayas
TACLOBAN CITY –– A barangay councilor from a town in Leyte was one of the two latest victims of the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Eastern Visayas.
The councilman from Barangay Enage in Calubian town tested positive for the virus after he arrived from Mandaue City, Cebu last July 14.
Silvestre Delantar, Jr., municipal disaster risk reduction management officer of Calubian town, said the patient’s swab test result came out last Monday.
Aside from the village official, the other case in Eastern Visayas on Monday involved a 19-year-old woman from Hinunangan town, Southern Leyte.
With the two new additional cases, the region now has 675 COVID-19 cases.
