MANILA, Philippines — St. Luke’s Medical Center on Monday announce that its  Intensive Care Units (ICU), critical care beds, and wards for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients have reached full capacity.

“We wish to inform the public that St. Luke’s Medical Center has now reached full capacity in all intensive care units for COVID-19 for both hospitals in Quezon City and in Global City,” the hospital management said in an advisory posted on Facebook.

“The critical care beds in the emergency room, which we have increased to twice the capacity to cater to more COVID-19 cases, have also reached full capacity,” it added.

COVID-19 wards for both hospitals are also full. Several patients for admission are now lined up at the emergency rooms, St.Luke’s management said.

The hospital advised COVID-19 patients as well as those who are considered suspected and probable cases to temporarily seek treatment from other healthcare facilities “for the time being.”
