Second register of deeds takes witness stand
MANILA, Philippines—The register of deeds of Quezon City was the second witness presented by the prosecution team on Thursday to provide details on the properties allegedly owned by Supreme Court Chief Justice Renato Corona.
Carlo Alcantara was called to the witness stand immediately after the prosecution and the defense teams completed their examination of the first witness, Randy Rutaquio, the register of deeds of Taguig City.
Private prosecutor Jose Justiniano, who will conduct the direct examination of Alcantara, said the prosecution was offering the testimony of the witness to prove the existence of titles in the names of Corona and wife, Cristina.
At total of 23 titles in the names of Corona and relatives only in Quezon City were requested subpoenaed by the prosecution.
