SUBIC BAY FREEPORT—Journalists in Olongapo City and Zambales province gathered here on Saturday to join the simultaneous protests held nationwide against the shutdown of ABS-CBN.

Wearing white shirts bearing the message “Defend Press Freedom,” the journalists from various media outfits and their supporters stood in front of Inang Laya Monument here.

They said the activity was also in support of the continuing campaign of the National Union of Journalists of the Philippines (NUJP) to stop media attacks in the country.

“Let’s declare this a victory! If we can sustain this, it will take momentum of its own,” said Noynoy Espina, NUJP Chair.
