Rains over Palawan, Visayas, Mindanao due to ITCZ

MANILA, Philippines — Rains are expected over Palawan, Visayas and Mindanao due to the inter-tropical convergence zone (ITCZ), the state weather bureau said Saturday.

In its 4 a.m. live weather update, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that the ITCZ continues to affect Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are expected over Palawan, Eastern Visayas, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, and Zamboanga Peninsula.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.

“Sa susunod na dalawa o tatlong araw, wala naman tayong nakikitang sama ng panahon na makaka-apekto sa loob ng ating Philippine Area of Responsibility,” weather specialist Meno Mendoza said in the live weather update.

(In the next two or three days, we do not see any weather disturbance that will enter and affect the Philippine Area of Responsibility.)
