Firearms, ammunition seized in Sorsogon town
LEGAZPI CITY –– A cache of firearms and ammunition were recovered by police and Army soldiers in an abandoned area in Gubat, Sorsogon on Wednesday.
Major Maria Luisa Calubaquib, spokesperson of the Bicol police, said an informant tipped them of the presence of firearms and ammunition in a remote area in Barangay Togawe around 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Recovered were two Uzi assault rifles, two .45 caliber handguns, four caliber .38 pistols, seven magazines for the M14 rifle, eight magazines for the M16 rifle, a magazine for caliber .45, two magazines for Uzi, three batteries for handheld radio and 200 rounds of bullets for K3, SAW, M4, M16, Garand, .38, and .45 caliber handguns.
The firearms and ammunition would be turned over to the Army’s 31st Infantry Battalion for custody.
