Virus patients in San Juan isolation centers get P3K in cash aid

MANILA, Philippines — Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) patients staying in quarantine centers in San Juan City will receive P3,000 in financial assistance to ensure that their isolation will be completed as help stop the further transmission of the disease, the city government said Wednesday.

“Sila ay bibigyan natin ng P3,000 each kung sila (COVID-19 patients) ay magdedesisyon magquarantine dito sa facilities natin upang mahikayat sila na hindi manatili sa kanilang tahanan,” San Juan Mayor Francis Zamora told reporters at San Juan City Hall while inspecting quarantine centers in the city.

(We will give them P3,000 each if they will decide to stay in our quarantine facilities so that they will not just stay in their homes.)

COVID-19 patients are encouraged to stay in the city’s three isolation facilities so that they will not be infecting family members while staying inside their homes, the mayor said.

“Posibleng mahawa ang kanilang pamilya, magulang, mga anak o kanilang asawa so hinihinayat natin na sila ay lumipat sa tatlong nasabing quarantine facilities,” Zamora said.

(It is possible that they might infect family, parents, children, or their spouse so we are urging them to transfer to our three quarantine facilities.)

The city’s quarantine facilities are located at the San Juan Medical Center, Kalinga Center, and at the San Juan National High School, Zamora said.

Zamora added that aside from the cash aid, those who will be staying in the quarantine centers will also receive free food and other basic needs.
