Did You Know: 15th death anniversary of Leonor Orosa-Goquingco

Today, July 15, is the 15th death anniversary of National Artist for Dance Leonor Orosa-Goquingco. Born on July 24, 1917, she was known as the Mother of Philippine Theater Dance and Dean of Filipino Performing Arts Critics.

Goquinco was also the honorary chair of the Association of Ballet Academies of the Philippines and a founding member of Philippine Ballet Theater.


She was named a national artist in 1976 and died in 2005.
