Pagasa: TD Carina continues to move away from Batanes
MANILA, Philippines — Tropical Depression Carina continued its movement away from Batanes province and is seen to weaken into a low pressure area on Tuesday or Wednesday morning, the weather bureau said.
In a weather bulletin on Tuesday morning, Pagasa said Carina was last spotted 155 kilometers west of Basco, Batanes and heading northward towards the Bashi Channel and the southern portion of Taiwan.
It is packing maximum sustained winds of 45 kms. per hour near the centers and gusts of up to 55 kph. It is moving with a speed of 25 kph.
According to Pagasa, Batanes, Babuyan Islands and Ilocos Norte could experience isolated light to moderate rains with at times heavy rain showers. Only Batanes remained under Signal No. 1.
Pagasa warned that rain-induced landslides may occur during heavy or prolonged rains.

Pagasa advised operators and crewmen of small vessels not to venture out to sea.
