PNP chief wants plebes tested for coronavirus

/ 04:32 AM July 14, 2020

Philippine National Police chief Archie Gamboa wants all freshmen of the police academy isolated and tested for the new coronavirus. “I do not want to discount the possibility that there is an infection at the PNP Academy and other training camps because of other experiences abroad,” he said. Gamboa’s order came on the heels of the death last week of two members of PNP class 2024: Cadet 4th Class Kenneth Ross Alvarado and Cadet 4th Class Jiary Jasen Papa, who died of heat stroke and electrolyte imbalance or hypokalemia (low potassium), respectively. —Jeannette I.
