Police are now looking for the owners of three taxi cabs to explain why their vehicles that were spotted in Quezon City late Sunday afternoon bore the same plate numbers.
Supt. Ferdinand Villanueva, head of the anticarnap unit of the Quezon City Police District, said the drivers of these cabs are being asked to explain why their vehicles carry plate number TXZ-549.
They are Daniel Tejerero, of Taytay, Rizal province; Rosolo Doyondon, of Tandang Sora, Quezon City; and Wenceslao Saragosa Jr., of Barangay Holy Spirit, also in Quezon City.
All three were arrested separately after being accosted by operatives of Villanueva’s unit.
Tejerero was flagged down for carrying a suspected fake plate number. Later, Dayondon’s cab was spotted with the same plate number.
Saragosa’s cab was seen along Edsa at the corner of Kamuning Road, also with the same plate number.
The drivers were charged in the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office for violating Section 17 (Illegal Transfer of Plate) and Section 31 (Imitation and False Representation, of Republic Act 4136.
All three vehicles also had the same “M and K2 Taxi” markings on their bodies, police said.
