1,006 PNP personnel infected with coronavirus

More than 1,000 policemen have been infected with the coronavirus after the Philippine National Police recorded 25 new cases on Thursday.

As of 6 p.m. on July 9, the PNP said 1,006 policemen were infected with the virus while 455 have recovered.

No new fatality was recorded from the previous nine deaths.

Eight of the new cases are from Central Visayas, seven from the National Capital Region, four from Calabarzon, two from the Aviation Security Group and one each from the national headquarters in Camp Crame, Special Action Forces, Highway Patrol Group and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group.

The PNP said it was monitoring 651 probable and 1,252 cases. —Nestor Corrales
