MANILA, Philippines — Several celebrities called on the public to vote wisely in the 2022 elections following the refusal by the House of Representatives to grant ABS-CBN a new franchise.
The House committee on legislative franchises, voting 70-11, denied granting ABS-CBN a new congressional franchise to resume its operations.
“Vote with CONSCIENCE? Don’t worry, we’ll vote with PRINCIPLES and INTEGRITY in 2022. #NeverForget,” host Robi Domingo said in a tweet on Friday.

The resumption of voter registration was initially scheduled for July 1 but the Commission on Elections extended its suspension until August 31. [ac]
