36-year old OFW brings Digos’ 12th COVID-19 case

DIGOS CITY—An overseas Filipino worker, who returned from Kuwait in June, is this city’s 12th COVID-19 patient.

The 36-year old woman first tested negative when she arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport on June 1.

When she arrived here on June 27, the OFW was brought to the city’s isolation unit for quarantine.

Results of a rapid coronavirus test were inconclusive so health workers took respiratory samples for another test. The second test yielded positive results.

Health officials said the patient, who’s still not showing symptoms, had been brought to the Davao del Sur provincial hospital.

At least 11 other COVID-19 patients have recovered in the city.

As of July 8, at least 17 persons suspected of infection are still awaiting results of their tests from the Southern Philippines Medical Center lab in Davao City.

At least 78 persons in the city were tagged as probably infected and are on home quarantine.
