4 rescued from crashed plane in Zamboanga City
MANILA, Philippines — Four people aboard a private plane were rescued on Tuesday morning after the aircraft crashed into the sea shortly after taking off from Zamboanga Airport.
The Philippine Coast Guard said the Indian pilot and the three passengers (Filipino, Indian and Nepali) of the Piper PA-34 Seneca were all in “good physical condition” after the plane made an emergency landing off the coast of Barangay Sinunuc in Zamboanga City.
Initial investigation showed that the Dumaguete-bound plane’s left engine failed shortly after taking off at 9:30 a.m.
The Coast Guard brought the rescued pilot and three passengers to the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines’ office for investigation and further assistance.
