DFA closes main consular office
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA)’s main consular office in Aseana in Parañaque will be closed beginning Monday after some employees were infected with the coronavirus.
The DFA said the offices would undergo disinfection. Passport applicants with appointments and those planning to collect their passports will be accommodated “as soon as these offices resume operations.”
“Our Aseana Macapagal and Alabang consular offices have been hit by COVID-19. So it’s disinfection time. We need to keep our clients and our personnel safe,” Foreign Undersecretary for consular affairs Brigido Dulay Jr. tweeted on Sunday.
