TACLOBAN CITY – At least 31 persons in the Eastern Visayas have recovered from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
As of July 4, the Department of Health in Eastern Visayas has recorded 352 recoveries in the region.
It also reported four new cases, bringing the total number of infected persons to 581.
The town of Tarangan in Samar, which was once the epicenter of COVID-19 in the region, has been free of the virus which infected 35 persons in the locality, said Mayor Arnel Tan.
In his Facebook account, Tan said Tarangan no longer has “active cases.”
“Tarangan is now COVID-19 free. Thank you for all your prayers and support. My gratitude also to all our frontliners and to our patients who strictly followed all the protocols and never lost their hope that they would recover,” he said.
Tan, however, cautioned the people not to be complacent but to continue practicing all the health protocols to stop the spread of the virus.
