/ 04:15 AM July 04, 2020

A Manila barangay councilor was shot dead on Thursday night inside a barangay hall.

Barangay 484 Zone 48 councilor and officer in charge Antonio Calma, 43, was gunned down during a meeting at the barangay hall on Algeciras Street, Sampaloc, Manila, at around 10:30 p.m.

He died on the spot.

Calma served as village head due to the absence of barangay chair Guia Gomez Castro who fled the country last year after she was linked to illegal drugs. —Nikka G. Valenzuela
