7 construction firms in QC closed for violations

/ 04:10 AM July 04, 2020

Seven construction firms in Quezon City were ordered to halt their operations on Friday for violating government safety guidelines, while the local facility of a maintenance service provider was temporarily shut down after some of its workers tested positive for COVID-19.

The city’s department of building official said the construction firms violated the safety guidelines for the implementation of infrastructure projects, and the safe workplace guidelines of the Department of Labor and Employment.

The firms will only be allowed to resume their on-site construction activities after completing a 14-day quarantine and complying with health and safety standards. —Mariejo S. Ramos
