SAN PEDRO CITY –– A suspected drug pusher was killed in a police shootout in Naic town in Cavite province early Friday.
The Calabarzon police said in a report that Lenard Malabata was the target of the buy-bust operation at the Ericka Louise subdivision in Barangay Malainen Bago around 1:30 a.m.
During the operation, Malabata drew and fired his gun, forcing the policemen to return fire, the report said.
Elsewhere in the province, Cavite police chief Col. Marlon Santos said 27 people were arrested in 16 separate anti-drug operations from Thursday evening to early Friday.
