TWO farm caretakers allegedly killed a man whom they argued with during a drinking session in barangay Magsaysawy, Balamban town, Cebu.

Lyndon Latayada, 20, and Regine Labajo were tagged as suspects in the killing of Gebith Ardiente, whose body was found with gunshot and stab wounds outside a bunkhouse in sitio Mayana last Monday night.

Police said personal grudges could be the motive in the attack.

Police said the two suspects and the victim had a drinking session in the farm’s bunkhouse.

Latayada’s older brother, Roldan, told police that the victim and the two suspects argued while drinking. Roldan said he didn’t know what happened after that as he left when the three men started arguing.

Police said it was possible that Ardiente was able to run after he was attacked before he slumped about 50 meters from the bunkhouse.

PO2 Hannibal Larida of the Balamban police station said that a habal-habal driver tipped them off that Latayada and Labajo rode on his motorcycle and asked to be brought in barangay Campo 4, Talisay City. /CORRESPONDENT RHEA RUTH V. ROSELL
