Magnitude 5 quake hits Davao Oriental
MANILA, Philippines—A magnitude 5 earthquake jolted Davao Oriental at 6 p.m. Tuesday, the US Geological Survey said.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries from the inland quake that hit 73 kilometers southeast of Davao City.
It occurred at a depth of 93.8 kilometers.
The Philippines sits on the Pacific “Ring of Fire” where continental plates collide causing frequent seismic and volcanic activity.
