The patient survived and did not sustain any major injury.

Macuno said the patient, who was initially anxious, was already stable and has been recuperating in the COVID-19 Wing under the multi-disciplinary care of the Behavioural Sciences Service, the COVID-19 Medical Team, and the Patient Safety Committee.

She described Thursday’s incident as an “isolated case.”

Macuno assured the public that the safety of GCGMH patients is always a priority.
