DOH accredits virus lab in Sta. Ana Hospital in Manila
MANILA, Philippines — The COVID-19 testing center at Sta. Ana Hospital in Manila will finally start its operations after it secured accreditation from the Department of Health, the city government said Thursday.
In a statement, Manila Public Information Office said the laboratory will process around 200 swab tests daily to help the local government’s efforts to identify and isolate patients infected with COVID-19.
The validity of the hospital’s license to operate is from June 25 until the end of this year.
Sta. Ana Hospital, the city’s second largest government hospital, has its own Infectious Disease Center and 300 beds with 33 isolation wards for treatment of patients.
As of June 23, the total cases of coronavirus disease in Manila reached 2,019 with 120 deaths and 629 recoveries.
