4 alleged NPA rebels yield in Quezon
LUCENA CITY –– Four alleged New People’s Army (NPA) rebels surrendered to government forces in Quezon province on Wednesday and Thursday.
In a press statement, Captain Jayrald Ternio, head of the public affairs office of the Army’s 2nd Infantry Division based in Tanay, Rizal, identified two of the rebel returnees as Michelle “Ka Honey” Caparas and Rolando “Ka Rene” Ursolino.
Caparas reportedly surrendered an M16 rifle, magazines, and ammunition.
Colonel Alex Rillera, commander of the 202nd Infantry Brigade, reported that 30 minutes after Caparas surrendered in a village in Mauban, Quezon, Ursolino also turned himself in another village.
Rillera also reported that two more alleged communist rebels surrendered on Thursday in another location in the province.
One of the rebels is a 15-year-old Dumagat, while the other was identified as The Alvin “Ka Jack” Molina.
