3 more COVID-19 ‘suspects’ die in Quezon
LUCENA CITY ––Three more individuals suspected of having contracted the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Quezon province have died, health authorities reported on Wednesday morning (June 24).
In its 8 a.m. bulletin, the Quezon public information office (QPIO), citing the latest record from the Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO), reported that the total number of mortalities among “suspects” reached 53, which covers the period from April 14 to present.
From March 15 to April 13, the IPHO record showed 44 deaths under the “person under investigation” (PUI) classification, which was replaced by the “suspect” category in the Department of Health (DOH) reclassification.
The IPHO recorded the deaths of 19 patients under “probable” classification also from April 14 to the present.
Authorities in different parts of Quezon were still monitoring over 106 suspected virus carriers, all confined in medical facilities. Another 127 suspects remain under home quarantine.
Quezon, which remains under general community quarantine, has recorded 147 COVID-19 cases as of Wednesday morning.

The province now has 28 active virus carriers.
