‘Araw ng Maynila’ rites to push through online amid GCQ

MANILA, Philippines – The Manila City government will push through with its founding anniversary using Facebook live amid general community quarantine protocols on Wednesday.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Department of Tourism, Culture, and Arts of Manila (DTCAM) director Charlie Duñgo said they will hold a Facebook live program as a tribute to frontliners across sectors.

“Karamihan sa ating mga programa ay online lalo na ang tribute para sa ating mga frontliners na gaganapin dakong 6:30 ng gabi sa June 24,” Duñgo said.

The activities will also include a wreath-laying ceremony, the groundbreaking of the “Bagong Ospital ng Maynila”, and a Mass to be held at the Manila Cathedral.

The DTCAM director assured the public that the Manila City government will strictly implement the guidelines set by the IATF during these activities. Jim Mendoza
