Lucena down to 2 COVID-19 patients after 63 cases cleared
LUCENA CITY – This capital city of Quezon province has only two remaining coronavirus (COVID-19) patients, the local chief executive reported Friday (June 19) morning.
Mayor Roderick Alcala citing the latest data from Lucena Inter-Agency Task Force, said the city registered a total of 65 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic broke out.
“But 63 of them have already been declared cleared and recovered,” Alcala said in a phone interview
He said one of the two remaining COVID-19 patients is a local government employee.
There’s no COVID-19 death yet in this city.
However, in its 8 a.m. bulletin, the Quezon Public Information Office (QPIO) quoting the latest information from the Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO), listed only 51 recovered patients from Lucena.

Lucena is now under the more relaxed modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) status until June 30.
Quezon, which is still under the general community quarantine (GCQ) classification, has recorded a total of 144 COVID-19 cases.
But 106 of them have recovered and 10 others passed away. The province has 28 remaining active virus carriers.
Authorities are monitoring over 116 “suspected virus carriers,” all confined in medical facilities, while another 73 remain under home quarantine, the QPIO report said.
