MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Justice (DOJ) has postponed again its investigation into Sen. Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III’s violation of quarantine protocols when he went to the Makati Medical Center last March 25 while under quarantine, exposing the hospital’s staff to possible COVID-19 infection.
The preliminary investigation on June 18 will be reset to a later date, Prosecutor General Benedicto Malcontento said on Tuesday.
He said the DOJ had ordered lawyer Rico Quicho to “comply with procedural requirements” and submit the original copies of the complaint that he filed by email last April 6 against the senator.
Pimentel took his pregnant wife to Makati Med when he was supposed to be in quarantine. He tested positive for the virus.
