Corona in Senate for impeachment trial

MANILA, Philippines – Supreme Court Chief Justice Renato Corona arrived at the Senate ahead of the opening of the impeachment trial set at 2:00 p.m. on Monday.

Corona, accompanied by his wife, Cristina, and Supreme Court Administrator and spokesman Midas Marquez, arrived at around 1:20 p.m.

They were escorted by some personnel of the Senate Office of the Sergeant-At -Arms to the office of Senate deputy secretary for legislation, Edwin Bellen, on the second floor of the building while waiting for the Senate to start the proceedings.
