TACLOBAN CITY –– Two alleged members of the New People’s Army (NPA) were arrested by police inside their house in Barangay Burak, Tolosa town, Leyte on June 8.
Alden Dagohoy, 33, and his common-law wife Alma Gabin, 34, were subjects of arrest warrants issued by a court in Laoang town, Northern Samar for murder and frustrated murder charges, a report of the Tolosa Municipal Police Station said.
Dagohoy was reportedly a squad leader of the NPA operating in different parts of the province, while Gabin was an education staff of their group, and the secretary-general of the provincial white area committee in Northern Samar.
Recovered from their possession was a caliber .45 loaded with magazines.
Police learned about the couple’s presence in the village through intelligence gathering.
The two alleged rebels stayed in Barangay Burak, where Gabin has been residing since December 2019 and even received the government’s social amelioration program last May.
Dagohoy and Gabin were detained at the lock-up facility of the Tolosa police station.
