COVID-19 patient dies after jumping from hospital window in Cebu
CEBU CITY –– A COVID-19 patient died after he jumped from the third floor window of a government facility along B. Rodriguez Street here about 8:20 a.m. on Tuesday, June 9.
There were no details available yet on the patient except that he was a 48-year-old male, who was brought to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center after he was tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19.)
Major Elisandro Quijano, chief of the Abellana Police Station, said police investigators immediately responded to the area, but were barred by the management of VSMMC from entering the vicinity since the victim was a COVID-19 patient.
The patient was immediately cremated, Quijano said. The VSMMC was still investigating the circumstances behind the patient’s death.
