NBI probing ambush of massacre witness

MANILA, Philippines — Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra has ordered the National Bureau of Investigation to probe the ambush of Mohammad Sangki, a government witness in the Maguindanao massacre case, last Wednesday.

Sangki survived the ambush but his driver, Richard Escobilla, died. The two were traveling with a security convoy in Tantangan, South Cotabato, when unidentified gunmen fired on them. —Jerome Aning
