Congressman Yap hospitalized, undergoing tests—staff

MANILA, Philippines — ACT-CIS Partylist Rep. Eric Yap was rushed to the Benguet General Hospital Saturday morning after supposedly experiencing “overfatigue” and “stress” in the past few days, the lawmaker’s chief of staff confirmed in a radio interview.

Speaking with Bombo Radyo Baguio, Kevin See, Yap’s chief of staff, said the lawmaker is currently being treated at the Emergency Room of the hospital.

“Yes. Kasalukuyan po nasa emergency room ngayon, may mga test na ginagawa sa kanya (Yap). Hopefully, nothing serious,” See said.

“Nagsabay-sabay siguro dahil yung stress siguro or overfatigue for the past few nights.”

(Yes, currently, in the emergency room, there are tests being done for Yap. Hopefully, nothing serious. Things went wrong maybe due to stress or overfatigue for the past few nights.)

See said Yap’s body weakened at around 4 a.m. which led them to bring the lawmaker to the hospital.

“Mga 4 a.m., narinig ko na lang na may kumalabog sa kwarto niya yun biglang nanghihina na lang siya at parang may panic attack din. Itinakbo na namin agad sa Benguet General Hospital,” he said.

(Around 4 a.m., I heard a loud thud inside his room and we saw him weakening and having panic attacks. We rushed him immediately to Baguio General Hospital.)
