P4-M worth of shabu seized in Laguna

/ 05:08 AM June 05, 2020

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on Wednesday seized some 600 grams of shabu worth P4-million from Samson Tan alias Yusuf Sultan in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Loma, Biñan, Laguna. Arrested along with Tan were his alleged cohorts Dexter Abdala, Ansadin Kamid and Dexter Salik.

In a radio interview, PDEA director general Wilkins Villanueva said Tan had been under surveillance for three months.

He said Tan, a chemist, was arrested by the Manila Police District in 2008 for the manufacture of shabu and was transferred to the New Bilibid Prisons in 2013.

He apparently appealed his conviction and was released in 2018 or 2019, Villanueva said.

The suspects are in PDEA custody pending the filing of drug charges against them. Jeannette I. Andrade
