Some 31 residents of Barangay Baclaran in Parañaque have been transferred to health facilities in the city for quarantining after they tested positive for the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
In a report by Dr. Darius Sebastian, chief of the City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit, 754 residents underwent rapid testing from May 21 to 23 after the barangay was placed on lockdown.
Satisfied with results
“We are satisfied with the rapid testing results in Baclaran, which shows that transmission in the 10 sitios is gradual. We were expecting a higher number of positive cases for the disease in the area,” Sebastian said.
As of June 3, Barangay Baclaran had recorded the second highest number of confirmed cases in the city at 86, with 40 recoveries and four deaths.
In first place was San Dionisio—currently on lockdown until Saturday—with 116 cases, 74 recoveries and two deaths.
The city health office has so far recorded a total of 765 confirmed cases, with 485 recoveries and 49 deaths.
