MANILA, Philippines — Despite the hot and humid weather, various parts of the country may expect partly cloudy skies from Wednesday evening until Thursday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

State meteorologists said there is a chance of localized thunderstorms and isolated rain showers due to the cloud bands surrounding the country, especially from Thursday afternoon until night.

Meanwhile, the low-pressure area (LPA) located in waters east of Luzon remained stationary and is not likely to have an effect on the country’s weather systems.

The LPA, which is not expected to develop into a Tropical Depression, was last spotted 520 kilometers east of Calayan in Cagayan.

For Thursday, the temperature in Metro Manila is likely to maintain high heat index levels as it is forecast to range between 25 degrees Celsius and 35 degrees Celsius.  The same can be said for Cebu and Davao, which will possibly experience climate hitting 25 degrees Celsius to 33 degrees Celsius.

No gale warning has likewise been raised as sea condition is expected to be slight to moderate all over the country.  This means fisherfolk and small boat transport operators are allowed to make trips and set sail.
