MANILA, Philippines—The Philippine Army has made a strategic shift away from traditional media to get its stories told.

On Monday (June 1), it re-launched its Youtube channel through a live broadcast from the Army headquarters in Taguig City.

“Your Philippine Army” will feature the stories and experiences of the soldiers especially in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. The channel, according to Army spokesperson Col. Ramon Zagala, will feature meaningful and informative content.

Coinciding with the re-launch was the release of the Army’s short documentary on its coronavirus operations, created by award-winning director Enzo Williams.

“The Army continues its sworn duty of serving the people, securing the land, and responding to communities’ call for assistance,” the statement quoted Army chief Lt. Gen. Gilbert Gapay as saying.

“Aside from these, it is also our goal to inform, educate, and disseminate information – to share the Army’s story,” he said.
