Lockdown can’t keep Pinoys home, says survey

MANILA, Philippines — At least four of five Filipinos left their homes to avail of essential services one to three times in a week despite lockdown protocols, a special Social Weather Stations survey indicated.

Conducted from May 4 to May 10 through phone interviews, the survey found that its 4,010 respondents went out to buy food and medicine, and for financial transactions.

Another survey by PhilCare health maintenance meanwhile concluded that eight out of 10 Filipinos turned to prayer to cope with the health crisis. The chief concern of 95 percent of its 800 respondents was the health of their loved ones, the survey said.
