MANILA, Philippines — Authorities seized P40 million worth of crystal meth while five suspects were arrested in two anti-drug operations in Bohol, Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Archie Gamboa said on Tuesday.
Gamboa said the PNP Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG), Police Regional Office-7 for Central Visayas and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency launched a buy-bust operation against Jamie Dajao, 44, in Talibon town at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
Dajao was arrested during the entrapment while operatives seized four kilograms of meth with an estimated value of P27 million.
Bohol police and PDEG also conducted another buy-bust operation in Tagbilaran City at 5:35 p.m.
The bust resulted in the arrest of Lelit Dajao, 44; Chellomae Curayag, 33; Junalyn Abelgas Matura, 32 and Humprey Cenabre, 34.
Police officers confiscated P13 million worth of crystal meth from the four suspects.
Gamboa said PNP’s anti-drug campaign is ongoing despite the coronavirus disease pandemic.
“Even with the ongoing health crisis, police anti-illegal drugs operations will continue without let-up and will be unrelenting as ever,” the PNP chief said.
