Ospital ng Tondo resumes full operations
MANILA, Philippines — One of Manila’s six public hospitals has resumed full operations after the recovery of three of its 13 health-care workers who earlier tested positive for the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the city government confirmed on Monday.
The Ospital ng Tondo (OsTon) shut down most of its facilities, except for the radiologic and laboratory section, from May 11 to May 24 to give way to terminal cleaning, disinfection, pest control and some “rearranging” to allow it to accommodate more COVID-19 patients.
According to OsTon director Dr. Myrna Paloma, the 13 health-care workers were placed under quarantine during the closure to allow them to recover.
OsTon was the city’s third public hospital that had to shut down operations, either completely or partially, due to COVID-19.
The others were Ospital ng Sampaloc and Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center, which both reported positive cases among its health workers last month. INQ
