2 nabbed when ‘shabu’ fell out of travel pass in Naga City GCQ checkpoint – police

LEGAZPI CITY – Two people were arrested after a sachet of suspected “shabu” (crystal meth) fell out of their travel pass during an inspection at a General Community Quarantine (GCQ) checkpoint in Naga City in Camarines Sur, a police report said.

Salvador Cerillo, 28, a parking attendant and resident of Barangay (village) Cararayan and Ria Tam, 40, resident of Barangay Peñafrancia, were caught in possession of a sachet of shabu during a police Oplan Sita (inspection) checkpoint at Ninoy and Cory Avenue in Barangay Triangulo at around 5:30 p.m.

The report said police officers manning the checkpoint flagged down the motorcycle Cerillo was driving for having no plate number. It was found out at the checkpoint that he was driving without a license and his backride was not wearing the required helmet.

The other suspect Tam was presenting their travel pass certification when a sachet of shabu concealed accidentally fell. The policemen who saw the shabu immediately arrested the two suspects.

The suspects were detained at the city police station while police are preparing to file charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
