A man named Jesus was arrested after he confessed to breaking a nearly 100-year-old stained glass window of a church in North Carolina, United States.
Jesus Jose Arellano smashed the window of the Grace Moravian Church at around 11 p.m. last Monday, May 18, as per NBC-affiliate WXII on May 21.
Approximately two square feet of the 30-foot stained glass window, which dates back to 1925, was smashed by Arellano. The vandal also used a foot-long rock to break through six inches of Plexiglas to reach the window.
Authorities found Arellano the next morning at a cemetery across the church, as per report. He was charged with injury to real property.
Neil Ruth, the pastor of the church, stated that while he and his congregation are upset over the damage done, they are also worried about Arellano. Ruth added that he could not understand why Arellano decided to break their window. Ryan Arcadio/JB
