Duterte gifts PMA, PNPA top graduates house and lot

MANILA, Philippines — The class valedictorian of the Philippine Military Academy’s (PMA) Masidlawin Class of 2020 and the Philippine National Police Academy’s (PNPA) Mandayug Class of 2020 not only graduated with honors on Friday evening but also with a house and lot each.

This was announced by President Rodrigo Duterte during the simultaneous graduation rites of PMA and PNPA on Friday.

Cadet First Class Gemalyn Sugui from the province of Isabela was the top 1 of the PMA’s graduating class and will be commissioned as a junior officer of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

Meanwhile, Cadet Lei Anne Palermo from Zamboanga City, who topped PNPA’s 2020 class, will join the Bureau of Fire and Protection.

Duterte, who delivered his speech via teleconferencing from Malacañang, said each house and lot costs P2 million and will come from VistaLand Company of businessman and former senator Manny Villar.

“[They] are the beneficiaries of the house and lot. Puro babae (All girls),” Duterte said.

“‘Yung boyfriend na katabi mo, senyasan mo lang na hindi sila pwede pumasok ng bahay na lasing, nagloloko, nambabae. Sabihin mo: ‘Akin ito at ‘wag kang palaboy-laboy diyan’,” he jokingly added.

(Your boyfriend beside you, give a sign to him that they cannot enter the house drunk… womanizing. Tell him: ‘This is mine, and don’t fool around’.)

Meanwhile, the class “goats” will both receive a Rock Island Armory caliber .45 pistol, Duterte announced.

“Goat, I salute you,” he said.
